Treatments I have tried about 5 years ago that I have mentioned on the blog. These treatments suppose to stimulate the cells in the skin to produce melanin. Before using any of these treatment research side effects. Some of these treatments have not been tested on darker skin. Everyone skin reacts differently! • Tar products • Protopic Tacrolimus-Tingling sensation be careful if you have young children and contact with your eyes. • Puva & Narrow Band UVB-This caused burning on my skin • Excimer Laser-This I believe contributed to the spread of my vitiligo. Some insurances (GHI and Medicaid) may cover the above treatments check with your insurance coverage. Word to the wise: Do your research!
